With Apple Fitness+, staying active, and getting your sweat on has never been easier. Choose from a variety of workout lengths that range from a quick 5-minute stretch to a 45-minute full-body burn.

Additionally, Apple Fitness+ lets you choose from a wide variety of workouts. Users can look forward:

  • Yoga
  • HIIT
  • Core
  • Dance
  • Rowing
  • Cycling
  • Treadmill

How It Works With Apple Watch

Apple Fitness+ users must have an Apple Watch Series 3, 4, 5, 6, or SE with the latest watchOS 7 update. Just like any Apple Watch activity or workout, Apple Fitness+ uses sensors like the accelerometer, gyroscope, optical heart sensor, and ECG to measure your real-time fitness metrics.

When you select a workout, your Apple Watch will automatically select the correct workout type and metrics. With watchOS 7, you can already track workout modes such as:

  • Core and Functional Strength Training
  • Dance and low-range cardio fitness
  • Stair-ascent and descent speed
  • Six-minute walk distance and walking speed
  • Step length and asymmetry

Apple Fitness+ intelligently tracks your workout metrics in real-time. Your progress will be shown on your screen throughout the entire workout.

An Apple Watch favorite, the Activity rings, will also appear on your screen tracking your progress. When your rings close during a workout, an animated celebration will appear to celebrate your fitness achievements.

It doesn’t matter if you’re new to at-home workouts or not sure where to start, Apple Fitness+ has an Absolute Beginner program to help you start your fitness journey. Or, if you’re up for a little competition, the “Burn Bar” compares your live metrics and exertion to others who’ve previously completed the same workout.

Apple Fitness+ can also intelligently recommend high-tempo workouts or mindful stretching depending on what you’ve previously completed. Personalization and exploration are endless with Apple Fitness+. Moreover, every song that is played in your workout is specially curated in an Apple Music playlist.

Apple also ensures that most workouts do not require equipment—and if you do—you can use any brand of equipment at your disposal. At most, you may need a set of dumbbells and an exercise mat. Alternatively, if you choose a machine-based workout, Apple GymKit-enabled machines will automatically prompt users to connect their Apple Watch.
