Apple to Remove Charger from iPhone 12 Box

Rumors are spreading that Apple's new iPhone 12 will not come with a charging adapter.

Old iPhone models came with a 5W adapter, and with the exhaustive nature of 5G, many were expecting the iPhone 12 to come with a more powerful 18W adapter. Now, it appears that most will be getting nothing.

This initiative could have several motivations. Firstly, Apple wants to sell the iPhone 12 at the same price as the iPhone 11 was. With the additional features, Apple was bound to cut costs in some departments; this could actually be the most favorable choice. Secondly, this decision is better for the environment. So Apple does have its reasons.

Furthermore, many are starting to use wireless charging anyways. Apple could just be taking that leap early. Like their decision to remove the headphone jack and transition to Bluetooth audio devices, this could be the next step.

However, with so much public outrage, Apple may reverse their decision in coming weeks. It's possible that Apple is testing the waters now so as not to face even greater backlash later.
