Apple TV App Coming to Xbox And tvOS 14.2 beta 2 Released

On September 29, Apple released the second beta of iOS 14.2, iPadOS 14.2, watchOS 7.1, and tvOS 14.2 for developers to test.

Each update included bug fixes and a few updated features for certain operating systems. We reviewed the iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 beta 2s details in another article. For watchOS 7.1, there aren't notable changes between the first and second betas other than minor bug fixes.

The tvOS 14.2 beta 2 was also released to developers with minor improvements.

Another Apple TV update reveals the possibility of the Apple TV app arriving on the Xbox console. We will uncover the details in the following sections.

Apple TV App Coming to Xbox

Unsure about the exact arrival date, the Apple TV app is expected to be added to Xbox users' consoles.

Some analysts speculate that the Apple TV app will premiere on the Xbox console during the time of the upcoming Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles. The new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles are expected to premiere on November 10, 2020.

The leak was released by an Xbox Insider beta program member who revealed a photo of the Apple TV app included in a list of applications to test. Even though the Apple TV app was added to the list, it was not working at the time.

If the Apple TV app is included in the upcoming Xbox consoles, Apple TV subscribers can watch their favorite shows and films from various channels. Like before, users can watch from their iPhones, iPads to their Macs, and resume from the point they left off.

Just Released: tvOS 14.2 beta 2 to Developers

Just yesterday, Apple released the tvOS 14.2 beta 2 amongst other operating system updates to its developers for testing.

While there were no significant changes noted by Apple leakers, we can expect to see minor bug fixes and better integration with HomeKit, YouTube 4K streaming, AirPlay from iPhones to Apple TVs, Audio Sharing, and Game Controller support.

The central theme Apple continues to aim for across all of its operating system updates is simplicity and ease of access from one device to the next.

The most frustrating part about changing our devices when it loses battery or when we want to change the screen size depending on our daily schedules is the transfer of data and information.

With the latest updates, we can expect easier access to continue playing a show, song, podcast, and a phone call from one device to another.
