Apple TV+ Set to Premiere 'Losing Alice' Series in January 2021

Earlier this year, Apple TV+ acquired global rights to neo-noir Israeli drama series, Losing Alice.

We’ve got the latest update for you now as Apple TV+ announced on Thursday that the series will premiere Friday, January 22 in the new year.

The eight-episode Losing Alice series was acquired from the creator, writer, and director Sigal Avin after its initial airing on HOT in Israel.

As a part of a bigger picture, the series premiered at We Are One: A Global Film Festival and slotted a space in the Cannes Series lineup for 2020. Apple TV+ will be the global streaming premiere for Losing Alice.

What is 'Losing Alice' About?

Losing Alice is a psychological drama-thriller about a seasoned film director, Alice who becomes fascinated with the younger femme-fatale screenwriter, Sophie.

Through flashbacks and flashforwards, the series explores the themes of guilt, jealousy, aging, anger, rage, relationships, and love.

Alice is played by popular Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer while Sophie is played by Lihi Kornowski, best known for The Burglar (2016).

Bringing More International Dramas to Your Apple TV+

Losing Alice is the second Israeli drama acquired by Apple TV+ as it follows Apple’s deal to co-produce the hit Israeli spy series, Tehran.

Tehran is an Israel-Iran espionage thriller starring Israeli actress, Niv Sultan as Tamar Ribiyan, a computer hacker-agent embarking on a mission to destroy Iran’s nuclear reactor in Tehran, the capital city of Iran.

Tehran Season 1 is available now on Apple TV+. According to an article written by Bustle, it is highly likely that Tehran will be returning for a Season 2 considering how well it was received amongst viewers and critics.

Losing Alice will be the next big thing to watch out for on your Apple TV+ come the new year to see where it will fall amongst the ranks in the Apple TV+ verse.
