Google Nest, along with other smart speakers, can connect with Google Assistant and let users see their Apple Music subscriptions for the first time.

This upgrade will change Google Nest user experiences and provide additional options to Apple users who do not use a HomePod nor HomePod mini to share their music.

Continue reading to learn how the latest Google and Apple Music update affects you.

The Details

Google Assistant-enabled devices, including Nest Audio, Nest Hub Max, Nest Mini, and others, will now have Apple Music support starting Monday.

This will allow Apple Music subscribers to access and enjoy the over 70 million songs, albums, and playlists hosted on the music platform.

How To Enable Apple Music

To successfully connect your Google-Assistant enabled device to your Apple Music, users must link their Apple Music account to their Google Home app, as directed by Google's official blog.

Once you've completed this step, you can select Apple Music as your default music streaming service.

After the service has been enabled on your Google device, users can implement normal commands and queries to their smart devices to listen to the song, album, or playlist of their choice.

For example, "Hey Google, play Coldplay, Viva la Vida." The user can also command the device to play Apple Music-created playlists covering different genres and moods.

Moreover, music can be played throughout the home or moved between spaces, as this Apple Music-support functions with Google Home's multi-room control feature.

The support has begun to be rolled out to Google Assistant-equipped smart devices in places like the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Japan.

It follows the lead of other music streaming services and providers such as Spotify, Deezer, Pandora, TuneIn, and YouTube Music.

A lot of Apple Music and Google Home users are probably welcoming this news with open arms today!
