The Apple verse has been flooding with rumors of Apple working on a new and refreshed version of Apple TV.
A report today by Nikkei Asia Review strengthens these claims by saying that a new version of Apple TV could be hitting your TV tops as early as 2021.
Apple TV is a digital media player and microconsole developed and sold by Apple.
Apple TV—It's Not a TV
Apple TV is a streaming media player, which means it lets you watch videos, listen to music, play games, and use other types of apps from the Internet on your TV.
Designed in a palm-sized black plastic box, Apple TV connects to your TV via HDMI cable. From here, you can connect the Apple TV to your home wireless connection and bring the magic of the internet to your big screen.
One of the current Apple TV models is Apple TV 4K. The black box is available in two different storage options:
AppleCare is available for both options with the AppleCare Protection Plan for Apple TV. AppleCare is priced at $29.
Apple TV 4K comes with a simple 5-button Touch Surface remote with dual microphones for Siri featuring Menu, TV/Home, Volume, Siri, and Pause/Play buttons. Apple TV 4K also includes a Power Cord and Lightning to USB Cable.
This has been a standing Apple TV model since 2017.
New 2021 Apple TV in the Works?
The report from Nikkei Asia is a report pertaining to Apple's production plans for 2021.
Apple is also preparing an aggressive production schedule for its high-end computers, including the MacBook Pro and iMac Pro, for 2021, two other people familiar with the matter said. The company is in the midst of replacing Intel central processors in its computer lineups with self-designed CPUs built using technology from British chip designer Arm. Apple already introduced three MacBook models powered by its M1 central processor in late 2020 and announced it will take about two years to fully transition to CPUs designed in-house. The U.S. tech giant is also working on a new Apple TV, a home entertainment device for video-on-demand services, for next year, one of the people said.
These rumors have continued to heat since a new Apple TV with an A12 chip was uncovered in tvOS 13.4 beta. This leak suggested that the potential storage for coming Apple TV's would get a boost from 32GB's to 64GB's and 128GB's.
There have also been rumors of a new Apple TV remote, updated in iOS 14 code. Another one suggested that Apple TV may use the same A14 chip from the iPhone 12.
Many rumors are sweeping the net about Apple TV, but the potential of a new Apple TV being released in 2021 seems to be in good standing.
