Apple users were already aware of sharing apps through the Family Sharing feature, but now you can share App Store subscriptions!
Made available through the Family Sharing feature on your iPhone or iPad, you can now share in-app purchases and subscriptions via iCloud.
Get Access to App Store Sharing
To get the Family Sharing feature, go into the Apple App Store settings, and find the "Subscriptions" option.
From here, you should be able to find the "Share New Subscriptions" option. This new setting option will then allow you to share app subscriptions among your family.
The "Share New Subscriptions" option is available on Apple devices updated with the latest iOS, iOS 14.2.
Apple Family Sharing
Apple announced the new subscription sharing feature as a part of iOS, iPadOS 14, and macOS.
Apple describes the Family Sharing feature as:
Family Sharing lets you and up to five other family members share access to amazing Apple services like Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple News+, and Apple Arcade. Your group can also share iTunes, Apple Books, and App Store purchases, an iCloud storage plan, and a family photo album. You can even help locate each other’s missing devices.
Setting up Family Sharing is very easy to do.
One adult in the family can take on the role of organizer. The organizer can invite all other family members to join and set up accounts for anyone under 13.
Once your family members join, Family Sharing is automatically enabled on everyone's devices. Then, together everyone can choose which apps and services they would like to share.
Before the "Share New Subscriptions" feature went live, there was no built-in way for families to share app subscriptions.
